How to organise a family portrait session with a loved one who is terminally ill
I know this may be hard but you will be glad to have organised a time for you and your loved one. It is a light hearted session at a location of your choosing. At home, favourite beach or picnic spot. You decide. If it is easier, send me a WhatsApp message on 07361222902 or email dewberryportraits@gmail.com We can arrange an afternoon and go from there.
Digital images for you to download and use as you wish will be sent a few weeks after. Any portraits you see online are given permissions to use and aren't automatically shared.
As a portrait photographer who has personally navigated the tumultuous journey of cancer, I have gained a profound appreciation for the value of life and the stories that each individual carries. Surviving my own battle with this disease has opened my eyes to the fragility of existence and the importance of cherishing every moment. This experience has fuelled my passion for capturing the essence of people through my lens, and I want to share that passion in a meaningful way.
Offering complimentary photography sessions to those with a terminal diagnosis is my way of giving back and honouring the strength and resilience of those facing such challenging circumstances. I believe that every person deserves to have their story told, their beauty captured, and their life celebrated, regardless of their situation. These portraits can serve as a cherished legacy for families and friends, preserving memories that can be held close even when loved ones are no longer physically present. Photography has the power to evoke emotion, tell stories, and create connections.
By providing these sessions free of charge, I hope to alleviate any financial burden that may accompany such a difficult journey. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where individuals can express themselves freely, allowing their true selves to shine through. Ultimately, this initiative is about celebrating life, reflecting on cherished moments, and creating lasting memories that can provide comfort and solace to those who need it most.
