 You're in Bangor. What now?

What to Do in Bangor
After Your Dog Photography Session 🐾

So, you’ve done the important bit — your pooch has had their moment in the spotlight at Dewberry Portraits! 📸

But before you head home, why not make a day of it? Bangor has some lovely dog-friendly spots where you can grab a coffee, stretch your legs, enjoy a bite to eat or even squeeze in a little shopping with your four-legged bestie.

Whether you’re visiting us from further afield or making a day of your trip to the studio, here are a few of my favourite places to explore while you’re here.

☕ Feeling peckish?

GUILLEMOT Dog-friendly café

One of my favourite spots is Guillemot Café, right along the waterfront. With lovely staff, tasty food and great coffee, it’s a brilliant place to stop and refuel after your session.

Grab a seat, enjoy the views and let your pooch take in all the sights and smells. Because let’s face it, they've earned a treat too!

🌊 Fancy a walk and a bit of sea breeze?
Crawfordsburn Country Park

If you fancy stretching your legs, Crawfordsburn Country Park is a beautiful place to explore with your dog. Think woodland trails, waterfalls, a lovely beach and plenty of fresh sea air.

It’s a wonderful spot for a leisurely wander, a little adventure or a picnic if the weather is on your side. There are also public toilets and picnic benches, making it a handy stop for the whole family.

Coffee and a walk? Now you're talking...

And if you need a caffeine boost before heading off, why not stop at CARGO Coffee on your way out of Bangor? You'll spot the black shipping container, and it’s well worth a visit for delicious food and what I reckon is some of the best coffee around!

The Walled Garden

For something a little more peaceful, the Walled Garden is another lovely place to visit. The beautifully maintained gardens are a treat to wander around, and there’s open woodland just beyond if you and your pup fancy exploring a little further.

It's a lovely way to slow down and enjoy a bit of nature after all that posing for the camera!

🍺 Fancy a pint?

The King's Quay

If your idea of a perfect afternoon involves a cosy pub, a warm fire and a well-earned drink, The King's Quay is worth checking out.

It’s dog-friendly, has lovely staff and offers a welcoming place to relax after a day out exploring Bangor.

Pop in, get comfortable and let your pooch enjoy a well-deserved rest. All that modelling is hard work, you know!

🛍️ Fancy a little shopping?

Here's something you might not know: you can take your dog shopping in Bangor!

If your four-legged friend is happy pottering around the shops with you, there are some dog-friendly options to explore.

A few to look out for include:

  • Waterstones – for a browse through the bookshelves.

  • Pavers – if you're in the mood for a little footwear shopping.

  • The Guitar Depot – for music lovers and guitar enthusiasts.

  • Down to Earth – a lovely option for a browse.

  •

It's always worth checking individual store policies before visiting, as arrangements can change.

🐶 Make a day of your Dewberry Portraits visit!

Your visit doesn't have to end when the camera goes away.

You can turn your photography session into a little day out, discover somewhere new, whether you're enjoying coffee by the waterfront, exploring woodland trails or treating yourself to a spot of shopping, Bangor has plenty to offer you and your four-legged companion.
